Some more details:
The reason I'm doing this - I'm building a "meta-search" tool that searches a bunch of websites using Google's regular search API based on a query provided by the user. I would also like to search the user's desktop to show them any related content. After doing some looking around - it looks like what I'm am asking to do would open up some security holes in Google Desktop. So is my best approach to write what is called a "Universal Gadget"? I need the gadget to be instatiated from my web application - not the Google desktop. I need to pass parameters to it and either have it display the results or pull the results from the gadget to pass back to my application. I needs to run on both Mac and Windows. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Desktop Developer Group" group.
