like title say, just started on this today, and i skimmed over all the
faq and general info documents (except the ones in the group here
which didnt seem like they'd be much help)

what i am trying to do is create a widget that can help me and my
staff keep up with a forum at 'http://www.mewcon.com/forum/
index.php' (its a small sci-fi convention). so what ive done is found
our rss feed address 'http://www.mewcon.com/forum/index.php?
type=rss;action=.xml' and applied it to one of the more common designs
for a news feeder. you can see an example of one here 'http://
desktop.google.com/plugins/i/blogaboutthewebnews.html?hl=en'.

all i've done is taken out their address and put in mine, and edited
some of the loding text and tittle and image colors. the easy stuff.
15 mins later i realize a problem. it doesnt update itself! i found a
area that seemed associated with the timed updates, here:

'var CONFIG_REFRESH_FEED_MS = 10 * 60 * 1000;'

in attempt to make it update more regularly i changed it to:

'var CONFIG_REFRESH_FEED_MS = 1 * 60 * 1000;'

....which i read was supposed to make it update every minute... but
then i realized not only is it not updating (it actualy updated once,
but that was it) when we've had multiple posts that hour, but when it
did update, it only showed one new post! so i went and checked the rss
feed page to see if the error was there also, but the rss page showed
correctly all of our new posts. so im baffled as to why this widget
isn't keeping up.
