Thanks for replying Stefan. I will check once again if opening files will make Google Desktop index those files. I had tried same experiment few months ago and opening files caused real time indexing. That time, Index status was shown up-to-date only after all files were indexed. This time however, index status is shown "up-to-date" even though Google Desktop has not indexed all files in the drive. This made me think as if Google Desktop will not index files any more.
