Hi! At uni I have a project which should have a gadget component, but I haven't decided what kind of gadget should I go for, Windows Gadgets, KDE Plasma Widget, Google Desktop Gadgets etc would be all OK.
As I can use Google one on multiple platforms it looks to be the winner, however I have doubts. The SDK is 1.5 years old, 'official' google blogs, news have stopped writing about it months ago, basically it looks dead from the google part. Now I see gadget developers are alive, but where is the project itself heading for? Is it a dead project, which will probably live for another year, and then just die out, or the platform is so mature that it doesn't need to be modified, but it will be if for some reason it needs to be? I don't want to spend much time with something which won't be out there for long.
