I think I got a solution:

Right click on the icon of Google Desktop on panel and choose "Show
home Page". This should open the browser and show you an address.
Something like this: 
http://127.0.0.1:33023/?hl=en_US&src=14&s=sadaskoOT556fpkasdxc095fkolds

It work for you too?
