I have the same problem with Google Health API interface in appengine:

client = gdata.health.service.HealthService(source='test-v1',
use_h9_sandbox=True)
gdata.alt.appengine.run_on_appengine(client)
client.ClientLogin('----USER------', '------PASS----')
profile_list_feed = client.GetProfileListFeed()

results in a HTTP 401, wheras the same code in a seperate file outside
appengine runs.
