what if you want it included in the directory? these excellent forms
to make a gadget from templates have most of the content fields
included, but on further looking at the XML file it generated, its
missing most of the required meta information for the directory
listing.

we created a gadget with the 'make your own' tools that looks how it
should, but trying to add more custom fields in GadgetEditor isn't
working.

the current API documentation appears to indicate two versions of
gadgets, and one 'gadget editor' (GGE gadget - very nice). the gadet
editor only supports one type of gadget code and the directory only
supports the other type of gadget code .. at least that's what it
appears from reading it and experimenting with the tools.

a "published/unpublished/shared/who status" control would be helpful,
along with ability to add an analytics tracking code or at least see
how many folks have added it. (?)
