This has been submitted as a feature request.  You can show your
support by starring it at:

The workaround in the meantime is to use a textstring userpref and ask
the user to delimit his entries with a pipe symbol (|).  It's
unintuitive and clunky, but it works and is interpreted by your gadget
in the exact same way.
