I am a developer who has made an iGoogle gadget. Each time the gadget loads, it loads some images from my server. I have noticed recently that the amount of traffic coming from iGoogle to my site has gone up 20x. When I look at the server logs, I can see that for several hundred people using my gadget, it loads the same images 20 times in a row in a matter of seconds. Its almost as if the user is pressing the reload button 20 times, but its too fast for a human to do that. Why would the gadget refresh itself 20 times per second and how can I prevent this.
