Hi iGoogle developers, Thank you for your contributions to the iGoogle platform.
We wanted to let you know that we will be removing support for the social features in iGoogle gadgets on January 15, 2012. We built social features for iGoogle a few years back and the web has evolved a lot since then. We recently announced open signups for Google+, our new product for bringing real-life sharing to the web, and we will focus on building out the Google+ platform for social interactions. Our blog post for the deprecation: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/fall-sweep.html Google+ open signups: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/09/google-92-93-94-95-96-97-98-99-100.html As a part of this change, you may have to update your gadget(only if it uses iGoogle’s social APIs) to ensure it continues to work well without social features. We’ve put together documentation to help you make the necessary changes at: http://code.google.com/apis/igoogle/docs/removing_social.html If you have any questions, feel free to respond to this email. Again, thank you for your support of iGoogle. -- Takashi Matsuo | Developer Advocate | [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "iGoogle Developer Forum" group.
