i succeeded to register vlc or virtualdubmod as the player for avi
files

i check this with gspot
in menu "file" "Play (using associated player)"

thus gspot founds and uses vlc or virtualdubmod

but picasa does not found vlc or virtualdubmod !

how to register an association with wine ?

make a text file vlc.reg
put in the following statements

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.avi]
@="AVIfile"
"Content Type"="application/avi"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AVIfile\Shell\Open\command]
@="C:/Program files/VideoLAN/VLC/vlc.exe %1"

then

type

regedit vlc.reg
