Well, yes, most people in this group are aware that Picasa for
Linux is built on Wine :-)

Picasa 3 disables its movie support if it finds it's running on
Windows 2000, so in Picasa 3.0 for Linux we used this as a
cheap way to deal with the fact that Wine's movie support
isn't ready yet.

We are working on improving Wine's movie support, stay tuned.
