It seems to work for me. Here's what I tried: 1. Running 32-bit Ubuntu 8.04 with the latest updates and Picasa 3.0.5744-02. 2. Use iptables to block off all outgoing tracffic, except to the proxy server and to localhost. 3. Change the DNS resolver to the proxy server. 4. Verify Firefox cannot go online, then change the Gnome proxy settings, verify Firefox can now go online. 5. Change the proxy setting registry as specified in the Picasa Linux FAQ. 6. Start Picasa, try the "Blogthis!" feature, which works.
