First kill picasa process (or reboot). Then navigate to "/opt/google/picasa/3.0/wine/drive_c/Program Files/ Google/Picasa3/runtime/geotag" and rename the "geopanelscript.html" file to something else e.g. "geopanelscript.html.bak"
