I submit that the fault here is not on the part of Theo or the many others 
that have posted similar messages, but rather on the part of Google. When on 
Ubuntu 10.10 I type in www.picasa.google.com, the 
*webpage<http://picasa.google.com/linux/>
* that opens still points the user to a long obsolete beta version of 
Picasa, which had Wine inbuilt. That this leads to confusion on the part of 
users is hardly surprising. My suggestion would instead be to point Linux 
users instead to a Picasa help message which explains how to download Wine 
and the latest version of Picasa for Windows and how to run the latter in 
the former. Then, hopefully, we would no longer receive these messages, and 
no one would find it necessary to react by saying «Good grief. Not again.» 
It should be remembered that while for us habitués of this forum, such 
messages are not new, but they certainly new for those posting them....
