Lol...Don't dump him. Make your life simple and go buy a windblows operating system. The reality is that the windows and mac OSes are much more user friendly which is why they are so much more prevalent. Either ask him to spend the time to allow your machine to function perfectly (which my ubuntu, fbsd, and other *nix function great for my needs and requirements) or to help you install an OS that you can adequately use without being crippled by your expertise.
