I have the same problem long ago - when I write a comment of a photo or other text input in picasa 3.8 on Ubuntu maverick or maverick, the focus of the mouse cursor disappears and I can not enter characters. Must then reposition the cursor in the text box and continue etc ... This problem is not in my opinion not related to wine because it works well with other applications under wine. I have not found a solution.
