There are currently two different zoom types in the API - the first is
the normal zoom, the second is continuous zoom (enabled via
.enableContinuousZoom). If neither of those are the effect you're
looking for, then you're currently out of luck. We are constantly
experimenting with the zoom, but I think our recent improvements (in
1.8B) may be close to our final zoom "look & feel".

I suggest compiling a SWF uses the latest SWC, and seeing if that's
closer to what you're looking for. Here's one example of a recently
compiled SWF without continuous zoom:
