I have setup a basic flash develop project. This will allow you to code an entire google maps flash API project without using the Flash GUI. It relys entirely on the google maps 1.16 swc (the non flex version). It also relys on you having downloaded and installed the Flex_sdk to your computer. The only additional step you would need to make (beyond unzipping this file and opening it with free FlashDevelop - www.flashdevelop.com) Is to link the flex sdk via global settings in flash develop... feel free to contact me if you need assistance with that.
