I don't know anything about the corresponding bug ticket, but there were google employers in that thread, so I think they had noticed the problem. Map.setSize() and masking doesn't help at all btw. My first idea was to override width, and height of my container, but that methods are not marked as overridable. I don't want to change about 15 classes to manage my own width and height calculation just to make google maps working because I think it's a bug.
