Hi Jagger, I don't believe this is possible given the current API by itself. My guess is you're saying you've gotten the coloring to occur using the new styled maps API but I don't believe there's any simple way to request the set of lat/lngs for a given type of POI. You'd likely need to use a third party DB to get the POI locations http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1875255/open-source-poi-database I've thought of doing something similar (I'm a big fan of real time strategy, age of empires, starcraft etc.) so figure it would be a fun thing to build on, if you get anything working please post back.
