Well, the following are possibilities...

- you may have registered the wrong url
- you may have typed the key wrong
- you may have got the script tag wrong
- your browser could have cached a corrupt API script

What is definite is that we don't really have enough information even
to guess. Perhaps you could do a search for the error message, which
will find some posts with things to try. Or maybe post a link to your
map so we can see what's causing the problem?

The reason you don't get the error when you run the map locally is
because urls starting file:// don't get the key checked.
