Hello,
thanks to the hints I could resolve some issues (custom name in
driving directions, specify GIFs as printImage and mozPrintImage) and
will (given time) investigate the option of fine grained
customization
by using my own directions panel...
Meanwhile another problem has occured.
How can I switch from car-oriented navigation
to pedestrians?
For example, here ...

... when you "click" the text link "Temple Underground Station"
I'd like to obtain the short footwalk from there to my destination
instead of the 1.5 miles car trip.
