I've tried all 3 of Mike's code, studied GMapEZ, html instructions,
every post back through 2007, opened the code of dozens of example
maps and tried adding code, but my map stops opening and I'm totally
confused as to what to change. I add code and the map opens OK, I add
more code and the map stops, I take out what I just put in and the map
still won't open. Totally confusing. I think my biggest problem is
that I'm not using any .xml file or .cs file, which most people are
using and I can't see what they have in their xml code. My map is
pretty much all what you see you get and most of the commands are
parts of <div> tags and up till now that has given me every feature on
the map that I want. Other map examples have tables or forms attached
or don't show their var points as my map has so when I try to excude
their extra code, I just can't figure it out. I print lots of sheets
of code to try to follow, and I preview my map over and over again,
but to no avail. With the way my map is with each var point
containing the code as to where the icon marker should be, how big the
info window shoud be, what can be in the info windows and the color of
the icon marker etc, other examples don't do it the same way. so even
if I were able to get the basic ToolTip code possitioned in the right
place in the code I don't have a clue as to where to add, in my case a
actual address to show up in the ToolTip for each icon marker. It's
really not that I haven't tried, Ross. For me, a couple of years of
studying code of all the types, might get me to the point where I
wouldn't need to ask for help, and even though I like my map as it is
now, adding the ToolTip seems to be the final feature for it to have
and I have a feeling someone out there is doing a map like mine and
I'll be able to see what I have to add, change or remove to get this
final feature for the map. As you can see, with a lot of help from
others, I've been able to put together a map with a lot of features,
as seen at the gray markers and the marker in Mecico, and I think I
now understand all the code I'm using, but how to add the code to get
the ToolTips and where to add the code in the various var points has
the best of me.
