Here is a link to a public-domain shapefile of thousands of geocoded
address points in Austin TX.

All you have to do is convert the shapefile to KML, which is doable in
many different ways.  (I just use my Manifold GIS application.  There
also are shape-to-kml converters out there.)

I have files of hundreds or thousands of placemarks in KML files,
which gracefully display in Google Earth or ArcGis Explorer (not so
gracefully in Google Maps).  But I can't share them with you because
the content is private.
