Right, but maybe cdaaawg means rounded inner corners too. You can see
the behavior here:

The upper inner corners are round but the bottom inner corners are
not.
Mike's suggestion doesn't require special positioning of the map
<div>. If you can accept absolute positioning, you can lay an empty
<div> over the map <div>. The empty div can be bordered as you like
independently of map. Both div's must be equally absolutely positioned
which is not nice.
