Thanks a million guys. You saved me a ton of time isolating the issue.

I'm not really sure how to fix this. The data in the database is
stored as "Ryerson\’s" ... when I get the data, I call stripslashes()
on it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. A special character
is still being added before the apostrophe. Any ideas?
