Yes, look for threads here about that exporting - it does seem to trip some people up. You might want to make a decision about how to store your marker info long-term. If you've more than a few markers and your data changes, I don't think hand-editing a KML file will be particularly pleasant. You might want instead to use database, simpler spreadsheet, or even simpler text file.
