Google's "mapsdt" is much more efficient than anything done in the
browser with VMS, SVG or CANVAS.  It is cacheable too both locally and
at the "mapsdt" server.

The trick is to force GGeoXml to use it rather than to render polys in
the browser.  I believe GPoly is really designed for quick & dirty
little map decorations, not for a lot of large polys.
