Could it be that all you need to do after a street view is shown and you want to select another one is to click on the Refresh button of your browser and the first view will close for you to select another view. BTW, in one of my past posts I asked how to make the photo pop up on the right side of the map instead of below and was given the answer. Maybe do a search of the posts for GIL if interested.
