This might be a strange question but I thought the collective wisdom of the group would help.
I'm in need of a tile server that can serve up images via http. I'm looking for something like the following: http://www.tileserver.org/x/y/z/... where x & y are the co-ordinates and z is the altitude. I've been using the Google Maps API to get at stuff but it requires JavaScript and I really don't want to go through all the effort to get JavaScript built into my prototype Java app. That's going to require a lot of effort. Anyways, any insight into a public tile server would be much appreciated.
