Well, strictly speaking there isn't a question, but you do imply "Why?" (1) is almost certainly due to State controls of the internet in China. They would prefer users to use ditu.google.cn (I think that's the right URL) for maps rather than google.com. Your simulation using anonymouse.com isn't equivalent. That changes all external requests to use the anonymouse proxy, and it appears it upsets the API loader, presumably because the loader script is got via the proxy, but the main API request is written directly into the page and therefore bypasses the proxy; or it's messing up the Javascript; or some such. You can certainly use proxies: mobile phone companies route all their internet traffic through a proxy or two, and it all works. (2) I've no idea on, although it occurs to me that beta software, even beta2, could well have problems with some things.
