The technical question:

I am using Google Maps API to produce maps containing
GTileLayerOverlays. I intend to include these maps as figures in
printed documents, and want to include the same copyright notice that
appears on the screen version of the maps in their printed versions.

I have tried treating GCopyrightCollection as an instance of Control
and created a GCopyrightCollection.prototype.printable function to no
avail. Is there some other interface to make the copyright notice
appear on a printed copy of an API-produced map?

The legalisms:

The documents I produce will be filings with government regulatory
agencies and in court proceedings. Pointers to live Web site content
are not an acceptable substitute for printed documents in these
venues. It is unlikely that more than a dozen or two copies of any of
these documents will ever be printed.

As a non-attorney citizen activist, I am not compensated in any way
for this activity nor for the documents I create; this activity is
entirely at my expense and there is no prospect of any cost recovery.
After reading it carefully, I believe this use is consistent with the
Terms of Use of the Google Maps API. However, since these documents
will form part of a legal record, I want to ensure that they are
legally spotless.

At most zoom levels and for most geographic areas, the copyright
notice presently reads, "Map data (c)2008 TeleAtlas except FCC data
in the public domain." The geographic areas covered are restricted to
CONUS, AK, HI, and PR; no other US territories are covered. Limited
adjacent territory in Canada, Mexico, and the Carribean may be shown
incidentally, unless there's an API hook that can excise it.

Thanks for any help!
