Hello, We are developing a centralized location based service with two friends and our system need to use Google Static Map API. We are planning to create business around our service and location system.
Basic idea of our location system is that end users have smartphones with internal GPS -chip (eg. nokia N95) that send GPS coordinates to our WebServer that stores coordinates and user info into database. Then end users can check location of their friends that are users in our service from smartphone screen or from our website. These services will be free to use in our system. Anyway we would charge the advertisers that want to show their ads in our mobile application based on company proximity. Base question is that is it allowed to use Google Static Map API for our system? We are now in evaluating phase in creating this system and one reason for creating this location system is to evaluate possible business logics in LBS -services. If Google map API is not allowed to be used freely in our system, can someone from Google say how much does the usage of Google Static map API currently cost?
