There have been many examples of maps which are inside several nested
divs and I've never come across anything like you describe. I'd have
to take a look at your code.

If you can't post a link in the Group [don't post a code dump!] then
all we can do is recommend you fall back on your Google Premier
support contact. A link is required in order that all the parts of
your complex code are loaded and rendered correctly and in a manner
consistent with how you are doing things yourself, and then things can
be examined using tools like Firebug. I think that's what the posting
guidelines say, actually.

The best I can do without a link to look at things is to suggest you
examine your CSS and z-index in particular.
