My first attempt to port my 2D Google Maps from Ski-Map.com to Adobe AIR failed. My understanding is that AIR uses the Webkit browser engine to render HTML Javascript and CSS. I also understand that Google Chrome is also based on Webkit.
Anyone had any luck with Google Maps and AIR? I would also like to use the 3D browser plug-in. I am looking at the Flash/Flex version as a workaround, but it would be nice just to use my JavaScript version. Before Google Chrome was supported (for 3D), I read a post about adding something to the URL to trick the 3D browser plug-in to work with Google Chrome, but I lost the post. Ski-Map.com a 2D/3D search portal for skiing/snowboarding is being tested right now. Only two resorts, Kimberley and Kelowna BC, sort of work. Any feedback on usability would be appreciated. Also, the site is very dull without some multi-media. I am looking to synchronize audio/video with the animations of the maps. Any help with that would also be welcome.
