The only way you can stop that is to keep your polygons from
overlapping. It's not an "opacity adjustment" instead, it's the layers
adding opacity together, just like if they were made from plastic and
you overlaid one on top of the other.

It would be possible to trim your circles, but it would take a lot of
processing power and computations, probably make your presentation
meaningless.

One way you could do it is to create a server side depiction of your
circles as an image overlay, which would start out as all circles 100%
opaque there by rending the overlapping circle problem moot, then when
displaying it on a map, use the opacity of an overlay (GGroundOverlay
has no opacity, you'd have to use one of the third party systems) to
set the transparency of the overall image.
