I have a table of coordinates that roughly follow the UK's rivers and canals from which I am trying to create an encoded polyline using the encoded poly line class.
The example at http://www.saveourwaterways.info/thames.phtml displays a number of sections that form the navigable parts of the River Thames and its branches. As can be seen, I need a way to mark the beginning and end of each section begins so that I can prevent the end of one section drawing a rather arbitrary lines to the start of another. I have thought that one way to achieve the same effect may be to create a separate polyline for each section but as there are over 100 separate sections I am concerned that that many overlays dramatically slow down display times. Can anyone suggest a suitable solution?
