Maybe I should explain what SRTM3 data is. It is elevation (height)
data obtained by the Space Shuttle Endeavour during the 11-day STS-99
mission in February 2000. The resolution of the lat/long data is 3 arc
seconds or about 90m. More information at  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRTM
and http://www2.jpl.nasa.gov/srtm/
