I'm having problems using GDownloadURL. I've been testing the API out from my own machine (localhost) so I know it is not a key issue as I can see the map. I'm relatively new to the API also.
I've been following the tutorial on the Penn State Mashups site https://www.e-education.psu.edu/geog863/l4_p4.html about "how to read points from an xml file". When I could not get a simple example to work myself I saved the author's solution http://www.personal.psu.edu/jed124/read_xml_w_sidebar.htm along with the xml file itself http://www.personal.psu.edu/jed124/candidate_cities.xml, and put both in the same directory. I still get the error that there is a problem loading the xml file when I run this file in Firefox or IE7. I'm stumped.
