"Images may be retrieved in sizes up to 640 by 640 pixels. The size
parameter takes a string with two values separated by the x character.
640x640 is the largest image size allowed."

You could stitch together images up to 640x640, but then you can get
such an image in a single hit as well, so there's not a great deal of
point (unless you wanted a particular area in a different map type, I
suppose).
