http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/staticmaps/#Imagesizes "Images may be retrieved in sizes up to 640 by 640 pixels. The size parameter takes a string with two values separated by the x character. 640x640 is the largest image size allowed." > Is > static map stitching allowable up to a certain composite size, or is > it all in violation of the ToS? You could stitch together images up to 640x640, but then you can get such an image in a single hit as well, so there's not a great deal of point (unless you wanted a particular area in a different map type, I suppose).
