I've used the proposed example on my solution before and I noticed a
problem that really bugged me with it, if you change the extent of
your zoom the restricted boundary grows and shrinks depending on your
extent, which in my scenario wouldn't work. (You can try this
yourself, go to the bottom right corner and zoom in notice that it
changes the boundary from your previous extent?)

Anyways, hope my solution works better for someone else as well.
