I did a test and made every single station 55 degrees... and every single icon came up as the custom icon. When I switched back to the actual temperature... I got the mix of custom icons and default icons. Its like the API or GGeoXml or GeoXml only can display a finite number of custom icons.
I tried working with GeoXml and that seemed to give me the same problem. My same exact kml files are showing up just fine in Google Earth.
