Possibly, but... - the example uses Version 3, whose Group is at http://groups.google.com/group/google-maps-js-api-v3 - what do you mean, "tabs"? I suggest posting the question in the Version 3 group, together with a link to your non-working example and a precise description of what goes wrong and how to make that happen.
