Are you sure that you want to place your markers on a
GSmallMapControl?

GSmallMapControl - a smaller pan/zoom control. Appears in the top left
corner of the map by default.

If you mean a GOverviewMapControl - a collapsible overview map in the
corner of the screen - just as I wrote before
