aradvert has requested a zoomstart event be added to the map object (issue 989).
I've starred the issue as it would help me greatly with some maps that contain large numbers of complex encrypted polylines. I don't know why but the polyline erase and re-draw after a zoom or move takes forever whereas if I hide the lines within a event (or manually hide them before I do a zoom) and then show them again in movend or zoomend event they're quite snappy. Mike lists a zoomstart event in his register of events and parameters but if there is one I can't get it to fire. ( http://econym.org.uk/gmap/gevent.htm ) Have I missed something?
