Thanks both. Did a search after my first post and was just mucking about with the Vicenty stuff. Very confusing but seems to work! Cannot even begin to understand how people can work such maths out... wow. Mike - will have a look at your eshapes one now - thanks. Oh and I know you've probably heard it a million times before, but a huge thanks to you for your fantastic resource at econym. I have spent ages wading through that to improve my understanding.
