When supporting Maps API Premier customers, we often see questions about problems geocoding a specific address. To help visualise and debug such problems I wrote a geocoding tool for both v2 and v3 which we use internally. They simply display all of the results for a query on a map, with bounding boxes and address component information, and allow you to define the country and viewport biasing that is applied.
I've now uploaded these tools to the Demo Galleries, so that they can be used by external developers both for evaluating geocoding queries, and also when documenting them in the Groups, Issue Tracker, or Support cases: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/v2-geocoder-tool.html http://gmaps-samples-v3.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/v3-geocoder-tool.html They support both forward and reverse geocoding, and queries are bookmarkable so they can be emailed around. Hope they are useful, Thor. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
