I guess Google have finally capitulated and removed Royal Mail data
from LocalSearch. Local Search was never meant to be used as a
geocoding service and doing so broke Royal Mail's licence. We've been
waiting for the facility to be withdrawn for ages: see
http://groups.google.com/group/google-maps-api/msg/9424e1f6b8b76e85

Ironically, the data is now available for free and full UK postcodes
can be geocoded with impunity, except using Google services.
