Bear in mind that this Group is for technical assistance with Version 2 of the Javascript API for Google Maps. It's possible that members might be able to provide Google Maps examples to assist with the second part (although I'm not entirely sure what is actually being asked); and of course you can search the docs and the group yourself. Some members may have even experience with ESRI and arcGIS or even MapInfo. However I suspect that one aspect -- possibly even the principal aspect of the assignment -- is to hone and prove your ability to research and argue a position.
